BANDUNG TRIP WITH FRIENDS! 4D3N FULL ITINERARY + BUDGET

H I  I N T E R N E T  P E O P L E !

This time around, I'll be blogging about my recent trip to Bandung, Indonesia with my friends! This post is gonna be a short one as I'll be uploading a travel vlog soon enough on my youtube channel (make sure you're subscribed to get notifications from me!!)

DAY ONE

Upon arrival, we wasted no time and went straight ahead to Pasar Baru to get some shopping done. At Pasar Baru, you'll find TONS AND TONS AND TONS of stuff like telekung, jubah, baju kebaya, delicacies, shawls - just name it! I didn't take many pictures dekat sini because it was so hectic and humid inside in the place plus my friends and I were too busy bargaining around hee.

I bought a corak batik-telekung here for only rm30!

For lunch, we had ayam penyet (which is my ultimate favorite tbh) at Ayam Penyet Surabaya. I had the Ayam Penyet Sambal Balado which is tad bit spicy to my liking as compared to the one that I'm used to in Malaysia but it was still just as good!! PS: Thanks Shikin for the treat! ;)

After checking in to the hotel, we went for another shopping trip at Rumah Mode. THIS PLACE IS A MUST GO IF YOU'RE A SHOPPING LOVER! Rumah Mode is a factory outlet cum cafe. The items are priced averagely around rm30 and above. You can definitely find some hidden gem in this place. I think i spent most of my shopping at Rumah Mode because it has the least out-dated fashion pieces as compared to the other factory outlets in Bandung.

For dinner, we stopped at the Stone Cafe which was recommended by our pak supir. The place was located at a higher ground which had breezy air and a nice view. Personally, the food here is so-so (not really worth it for the price) however if you plan to lepak-lepak, have some drinks and enjoy the view + live band, then this is the place for you.

Believe me or not, most of our group shots looked like this

DAY TWO
We decided to dedicate our second day for sight-seeing and a bit more shopping! On this day, we started our day at The Lodge, Maribaya. Tbh, Maribaya wasn't in our initial plan, however due to time constraint, we chose Maribaya over Danau since it was more convenient and closer to the city. The Lodge Maribaya offers a lot of exciting "points" for you to take pictures. Don't be fooled by the hot air balloon, para-gliding and zip bike activities. Like I mentioned, the "activities" you see are basically "points" for you take pictures. You can acah-acah naik hot air balloon, para-gliding but don't expect you'd be doing the real thing ahaha! Semua tu propaganda je sis, however it's still a nice place to visit for the cooling weather and panoramic view.

Mountain swing in action (the altitude is higher than it looks)

Afterwards, we decided to visit Maribaya's Natural Hot Springs. Personally I wouldn't have gone to this place because the scenery is quite similar to The Lodge, except this one has a waterfall and you can rendam kaki at the hot springs.

For our second meal of the day, we tried some local and traditional Indonesian food at Kg Daun. Among the dishes we ordered were Nasi Timbel dgn Ayam Goreng, Nasi Ayam Panggang Madu and Serabai Pisang Keju etc. It was my first time trying Nasi Timbel (thanks to Puteri) and i was in love!! The taste is a bit similar to nasi ayam penyet except for the side dishes. Overall, this place is da bomb if you want to try out some traditional indonesian food + amazing view (we had our lunch tepi sungai kot) !!

peek the sungai behind alliya

As for dinner, we wanted to try some steak as suggested by Puteri's cousin. We spent an average of rm25 per person which is a bit pricey but it was worth it cause the dishes were great! Mungkin sebab we all were very hungry atm lmao

DAY THREE
After having our breakfast, we went to Kartika Sari to get some local delicacies. This is a must-stop place every time I go to Bandung. My personal faves are their almond cookies and baked brownies. Do take note that the food items will roughly last you around 1-2 weeks as they don't use any preservatives in their food.

Since most of us are thrill-seekers, we decided to have some fun at Bandung's amusement park, Trans Studio. For a ticket priced under RM100, this is a place you would not want to miss when in Bandung. The amusement park can be divided into three different zones and the rides are mostly catered for teenagers and adults. Personally, I enjoyed the Yamaha Racing Coaster and Jelajah by the most. You can easily finish all the rides in the park in a matter of 3-4 hours.

look at us trying to close that awkward gap in between

Afterwards, we went to the mall located just beside the amusement park and had lunch at Pepper's Lunch. I ordered the Hamburger+ Steak with Curry Sauce + Cheese + Egg Rice Set and it was 5/5!!!

We decided to spend our evening at a highly-raved spa called Marianty's Spa. Just like the reviews I've seen on TripAdvisor, the experience did not disappoint. I decided to pamper myself with some mani-pedi and hair spa which were at a quite cheap price point. I spent around rm100 for both packages (which you definitely can't get this price in Malaysia).

For our last dinner in Bandung, we strolled around the streets near our hotel and stumbled upon a restaurant called Warunk Upnormal. The highlights of this place were their customization of indomie dishes. I decided to try their signature dish which was the Indomie Warunk Upnormal -  indomie noodles paired with cheese sauce and a bit of sambal. if you know me, I'm definitely the type of person who enjoys having instant noodles with anything cheese on it. However, this dish did not meet up my expectations as the cheese sauce (more like gravy) was a bit bland to my liking + the sambal did not go well with the taste of the cheese. In terms of interior decor, Warunk Upnormal is killing it! The place is well lit with aesthetic vibes, perfect for taking your instagram shots.

post spa faces ((we look so tired))

So that's was pretty much the highlights of my trip! Here's the full itinerary and budget estimation of my whole trip in case if you want to plan a trip to Bandung with your friends hehe! Watch out for this space as I'll be updating it once I've uploaded my travel vlog.

rubydanroses Liquid Lipsticks Swatches + Mini Review

G R E E T I N G S  L O V E L Y  R E A D E R S x

I've recently purchased some liquid lippies again (and yes I'm guilty of this) because only God knows how much I've spent on matte lip creams especially in the last few months. This is actually the second time I've purchased lipsticks from local brands. I don't really purchase that much from local brands because I'm bit stereotypical on the qualities of products. Don't get me wrong, I tried a few local cosmetics before and let's just say they did not leave a good impression on me. However, during the last couple of months, I see a lot of new local names on instagram, especially on the rave of matte liquid lippies. So I decided to give 'em a go on a recently-debuted local brand, rubydanroses.

On their first release, they put out nine shades in total --and I managed to grab 3 shades: sweet disposition, new deep & bachelorette. They retail about RM40 each, and free delivery with purchase of RM100 & above.

Overall, I think these liquid lippies are honestly great. They have a good staying power and they stay comfortably on your lips after long hours of wearing. However, I do recommend exfoliating your lips and putting on a lip balm beforehand using these lipsticks. These lipsticks definitely do not look or feel nice on dry cracked lips as they have a matte finish. Besides that, I think they are definitely comparable to the colourpop ultra matte lipsticks. However, this is a bit more expensive than the colourpop ones, but keep in mind that supporting local brands is a doing a good cause to the economy and plus, appreciating the amazing Malaysian behind these products!

On a side note, I've noticed after eating oily/greasy food (oh malaysian food are blessed with this hehe), the lipstick turned flaky especially on the inner part of your lips. However, to overcome this, I wiped off the flaky bits, reapplied and your lips will be great again!

I've also uploaded a more in-depth swatches/first impression video on youtube, so go and check it out!

I've also managed to spot a few cheaper dupes/ alternatives to the rubydanroses lippies!

SILKYGIRL MATTE JUNKIE IN RETRO - SWEET DISPOSITION
+ Retro costs around RM20+ while Sweet Disposition costs RM40.
+ Sweet disposition is more vibrant & has better pigmentation.
+ Sweet disposition is more of a red-orange shade while Retro is closer to a brown-orange shade.

WET & WILD MEGALAST LIP COLOR- CHERRY BOMB - BACHELORETTE
Cherry Bomb retails around RM12.50 (Boots) while BACHELORETTE retails around RM40.
+ The shades are almost identical and both dry matte on the lips.

- I haven't found any dupes for NEW DEEP yet! Will update if I manage to come across one.

So that is all for this blog post, I hope you guys find this post helpful if you're looking around for some local brands liquid lippies! And do check out the video if you want to see the swatches in action and my first impression on these lipsticks.

MY EXO EXPERIENCE: EXOluXion #2 in Malaysia

12.03.2016
the night where i felt the strength and unity in a fandom; where exo-ls unite to watch the long-awaited performances by our favorite band, EXO.

Hi, if you're a fangirl, you won't think I'm exaggerating. But if you have never been in a fandom, you might not understand; the feels; the commotion; and whatever has been flooding your twitter timeline these past few days. (I totally get it. I don't understand football fanatics because I've never been one). But if you were there during the night, you'll understand perfectly what i meant.

I thought post-concert depression (pcd) wasn't really a thing. But after experiencing it first hand, I proved myself wrong. After everything has ended, it left me feeling empty; lifeless; as if something big has been removed from my heart. My my, who would thought such people (that you've never met them before) would have such power to do such thing (unconsciously).

So, the reason I wanted to make a blog post about this is because firstly I hope it would help me with my pcd, and secondly, I wanted to pour out all of the thoughts I had during the show.

I've been a fan of them ever since MAMA 2012, and I've been supporting them until now. For me, that's a huge commitment since I don't really stick to fandoms that long. So you can say, EXO made me stay and the concert night has proven why.

It was one of the best experiences of my life. It was my first concert, so it was extra special. When EXO finally came out, I had to take a moment and asked myself," Is this real?" The band that I've been watching for the past couple of years only from my tv screen, was finally performing in front of my own eyes. It was unbelievable.

I enjoyed the whole performance. I was singing, dancing, jumping and gave my all. And i can clearly see that the boys also gave their all. They gave great performances no matter how tired they are.

Being a Kai-biased, for me, he was the highlight of the show. I bought the Rock O tickets because I knew he was going to be around ROCK O for most of the time compared to ROCK E/X. Oh man, he was really charismatic on stage. His gaze is really strong; the type where it'll pierce right through your soul. And do I have to even mention his dancing? His solo part for Baby Don't Cry was amazing. Good job, Jongin!
Chanyeol came close to ROCK O a couple of few times to interact with the fans. He's so tall, handsome as hell (yes I'm quoting Taytay). He made the most interactions compared to the other members (I think it's because he's naturally friendly so it showed when he was on stage).

Another memorable moment was when during the short break (before SING FOR YOU), all the lights were dim and the stage was dark. All the fans in the stadium sang the chorus part for SING FOR YOU (it was a fan project ). At that very moment, it was my proudest moments as an exo-l. I was amazed on how music can bring people together and unite. Everyone sang until EXO came out and started singing. Suho said he was very surprised that the fans in the venue sang along to all of their songs (not only the chorus). Well, glad to say I was one of them (yes im that type of fan).

Sehun asked what was written on the banners that we hold during SING FOR YOU. He said that the quote was something he said before, and he mentioned that we weren't updated HAHA. Sehun is that sassy friend that you'll have every now and then.

Overall, I had so much fun. I was very happy that I can finally live my dream as a fangirl; and I can tell people I actually went to my fav band's concert. I was lucky enough to see them perform in my front of my eyes and I wouldn't trade the memory for anything else.

 EXO SARANGHAJA!

I finally got to do what I love, which was watching EXO performed. So in another phrase, I was in love with their performances throughout the concert. The feelings were indescribable. Is the feeling the same as falling in love (in real life)?

........

Lemme know if you've experienced both. I'll update you guys if i find the answer.

Till then,
a proud exo-l

(PS: A vlog of the concert will be uploaded soon on my youtube channel. Stay tuned!)

*UPDATED: I've already uploaded the vlog! Hope you guys like it
